Minors and guardian consent

Wavrr works out from the client's date of birth whether they can sign at all, and whether a guardian has to sign with them. You set both numbers.

The two settings

Open Settings and find Age Settings:

• Minimum age — below this, the client cannot sign the waiver at all.
• Guardian age threshold — below this, the form requires a legal guardian's name and signature in addition to the client's.

These apply account-wide. A template can also carry its own age rules, which is what you want when your disciplines have different legal minimums.

What the client sees

When a client enters a date of birth below your guardian threshold, the signing form changes on the spot. It shows a Guardian Signature Required notice with their age, and adds two fields: the legal guardian's full name and a second signature box. Neither the client nor the guardian can submit until both signatures are present.

If the date of birth is below your minimum age, the form will not accept a signature at all.

In-studio signing

If you are completing the waiver on your own device with the client in front of you, the same rule applies — the guardian fields appear in the flow, and you cannot finish the waiver without them.

When a client has already signed remotely and a guardian signature was captured then, Wavrr tells you so and does not ask for it twice.

Keep the guardian's details on the record

The guardian's name and signature are stored on the waiver and appear on the signed PDF next to the client's. That is the document you would produce if anyone ever asks whether consent was properly given.
