Build a waiver with the waiver assistant

Let the waiver assistant draft a template for your service, location and language, then review it before clients sign. Rolling out gradually.

Updated

The waiver assistant is built into Wavrr. You tell it what you offer, where you work and which language your clients read, and it drafts a waiver template for you — consent text, health questions and aftercare included. The result is an ordinary template you can edit like any other.

Where you meet it

  • During setup. New accounts that have the assistant are taken to it straight after the profile step, so the first template is ready before you reach the dashboard.
  • On Waiver Templates. Tap New Template, or the Add another template tile at the end of your list.
  • In the app. Tap New template on the Templates tab.

Build a waiver

  1. Choose what the waiver covers: Tattoo, Piercing or PMU. A service you already have a template for is marked You already have one.
  2. Enter your Country, and your state or province where Wavrr asks for one.
  3. Type the Waiver language — any language your clients read and sign in.
  4. Tap Build my waiver.
  5. Wait while the assistant drafts it. This usually takes a minute or two.
  6. On Your waiver is ready, tick the box confirming you understand it is your responsibility to review the waiver.
  7. Read it in Review waiver, then choose Edit waiver to change anything, or Looks good to finish.

If you would rather start from Wavrr's standard wording, choose the Start from a blank option for your service (for example, Start from a blank tattoo template) instead of building one.

Review it before you use it

A template the assistant drafted is marked Draft · review in your list, and the editor shows a review banner until you tap Mark reviewed.

The review screen lists the rules the assistant applied for your location, with their sources. Read them, and read the consent text the way a client would.

When the assistant cannot be sure

Sometimes the local rules for a place cannot be confirmed, or a draft does not pass Wavrr's own waiver checks. In that case you get the standard waiver for your service, with your aftercare instructions, and a message asking you to check the local requirements yourself. It is still a complete, usable template.

You might also see Your starter waiver is ready while the assistant keeps writing the local version in the background. Your list shows that the local version is still being written until it is done.

What you can and cannot change afterwards

Everything in the text, the questions and the studio fields can be edited like any other template — see Edit or remove a template.

The service type is set when the waiver is created. For a different service, build a new waiver rather than converting this one.

Limits

There is no monthly allowance and no plan restriction — the assistant is available on every plan, free included, and templates are unlimited. To prevent misuse, you can start up to 10 new waivers with the assistant in any 24 hours. If you hit that, you can still create as many templates by hand as you like.
