Set up your aftercare instructions

Write your own aftercare instructions for tattoo, piercing and PMU, and see where they appear in waivers and aftercare emails. Rolling out gradually.

Updated

Aftercare is the part of a session clients forget first. Wavrr keeps one set of aftercare instructions per procedure type — Tattoo, Piercing and PMU — and uses them in two places: at the end of every waiver, and in the aftercare email you send after the appointment.

Start from Wavrr's default

You do not have to write anything to get going. Until you change them, each procedure type uses Wavrr's default instructions, marked Wavrr default. Once you save your own, the badge changes to Your instructions.

Write your own

  1. Open Settings and scroll to Aftercare. In the app, open Account → Aftercare templates.
  2. Pick the procedure type you want to edit.
  3. Write your instructions in the editor. The toolbar adds a Heading, Bold text, a Bullet point or a Link.
  4. Use Insert variable to drop in the client's name, the artist's name, your studio name or the procedure date.
  5. Check the previews, then tap Save.

Instructions can be up to 6,000 characters. Links must start with https://, http:// or mailto:.

Preview both places

The editor shows two previews:

  • In the waiver — how the instructions appear at the end of a waiver for that procedure type. Variables read naturally here, as "the client", "your artist" and "the day of your procedure", because the waiver is written before those details are final.
  • In the email — how they look in the aftercare email, filled in with sample client details.

Where your instructions appear

In every new waiver. The instructions are added automatically at the end of every new waiver for that procedure type, with a checkbox the client must tick. You will see a read-only Aftercare instructions card in the template editor, with an Edit in Settings link — you change aftercare in one place, not per template. The signed PDF includes them too.

In the aftercare email. When you send aftercare after an appointment, you choose which instructions to include. See Send aftercare after an appointment.

Go back to the default

Tap Reset to Wavrr default to throw away your version for that procedure type and use Wavrr's text again.
