Ink passport
Save inks in Ink Registration
Build a library of the inks you use so you can add them to an ink passport in one tap instead of retyping batch numbers.
Ink Registration is your saved ink library. Add an ink once, reuse it in every ink passport after that. It exists so you are not typing BN-2024-001 from a bottle label after every session.
Add an ink
- Open Ink Registration in the sidebar.
- Tap New Ink.
- Fill in Brand, Colors, Supplier and Batch Number.
- Save.
What to put in each field
Brand — the manufacturer, as printed on the bottle. Eternal Ink, not black ink.
Colors — the colours in that specific product. Comma-separated is fine: Black, Red, Blue.
Supplier — who you bought it from. This is the one people leave blank and later wish they had not, because a recall notice usually reaches you through your supplier.
Batch Number — off the bottle label. This is the field that makes the whole record useful.
Add a bottle, not a colour family
The unit worth saving is the physical bottle, because a batch number belongs to a bottle. When you open a new bottle of the same colour from the same brand, that is a new entry with a new batch number — not an edit of the old one.
Keeping the list manageable
Your library will grow. Two things keep it usable:
- Name colours consistently. Decide once whether it is
Blackorblackand stick to it, so search works. - Remove inks you have finished with. Removing a saved ink does not touch the ink passports that reference it, so retiring an empty bottle from your list is safe.
Adding one mid-session
If you reach for a bottle that is not in your library, you do not have to stop. When creating an ink passport there is a + button to add an ink on the spot, with a Save to ink registration for future use option so it lands in your library at the same time. Leave that ticked.
Then use them
Saved inks appear in a dropdown when you create an ink passport — see Create an ink passport for a session.
